Now we need to see “Kitten Khiropractors”!!!!!
I agree with you..im from Argentina..i was thinking a lot about petshops. i think that is terrible..that the animals live there without human love or a family.its a crime.I study medicine,but..,i help homeless animals to.
Oh, we have terrible economy here as well at the moment, probably even worse than in the U.S., but it´s one of the fundamental rights that pets have a right to live (talking about pets here, like cats, dogs, small mammals, herps, etc..). It´s not allowed to kill them unless they are ill and no chance to heal them. It´s very different here to the U.S., even declawing is forbidden. A vet doing this without any medical reason can lose his licence!
why can’t you declaw them? some animals are dangerous if you don’t declaw them. by the way what are herps?
Declawing is causing arthrosis and is simply inhumane. Scratching in a part of a cats natural behavior and it harms their spines when you declaw them, cause they can´t walk anymore as meant by nature. It is like AMPUTATING the first joints of your fingers or your toes. They need their claws to defense themself aswell. Ppl only to do that to save their furniture, what is just plain wrong. Herps = herpetology – reptiles.
thank you for telling me this bc my cat scratches a lot and i was going to get him declawed, but now im not after hearing this.
That makes me happy to hear!!
Even if they are indoor the claws are a very important part of their anatomy. Many vets in the states say it doesn´t harm them and there is simply onme reason for them to say that – money. Sad but true. During my education I´ve learned how many diseases it can cause and was pretty shocked. They are many other way to safe your furniture and your hands. Dewclawing is not like just pulling the claws, the entire first joints get amputatet and it´s very painful.
I love me some massage.
That is ADORABLE!! The cat seems to know exactly what it’s doing. I WANT THOSE CATS!! Haha.
mind me asking where you live?
i’m just curious as to where other places are that frown upon declawing.
I live in germany, I´m a homeopath (also do physiotherapy) for animals and work together with a common veterinary together in one office. It´s forbidden in whole europe. The US is one of the last countries where it´s sadly still allowed. But I´ve read there is actually any debate going on about to forbid Onychectomys (declawing) there as well – fingers crossed!
thanks
You´re welcome! There are really many other options you have to keep your cat away from your furniture or avoid scratching. I have many indoor cats myself and never had any problems.
I agree, I would never declaw my cats!
They have plenty of things around the house they can tear up and they seem to stick to it!
@T97Frida Agreed, people could simply buy toys that cats would prefer more to scratch.
Kitten: “this SEA-PEE-ARR is boring”
That’s funny!
my cat does that on pillows and stuff. apparently it’s a comforting thing for them and usually what they do when they want milk from their mother.
When I had to represent a on-human project in front of a group of people a while back, I used this piece as “illustration” at the end of my report, made people have their stomach broken because of laughing.
Has probably been said already but this is very common in kittens and adult cats alike, kittens massage their mother like that to stimulate her production of milk.
Looks so cute even in adult kitties, mine still do it to stuffed toys and cushions as adults, hehe.
ohhhhhhhh, my cat usually do that with me LOL ^^^^^
my cat does that 2 the sofa XD
Those kittens are gorgeous !
PLEASE help us ban declawing :

Too many cats and kittens are suffering from problems from the amputation of their last toe joints.
